About the dashboard

Once you are logged in, you will arrive at your learning environment. The learning environment is made up of different pages. But before we look at the pages, it might be helpful to first look at the segments of the learning environment.

In short

The dashboard is built up of 3 segments.

  • On the far left, from top to bottom, you will find the main menu. This is the navigation bar where you can navigate to other parts of the learning environment. It is easily recognizable by the Zunderwork logo at the top. You will often find the Home page, the Courses page, and at the very bottom, you will find the Settings page.
  • To the right of the main menu, at the very top, you will find the user bar. Here you will find a general search function for everything related to your learning environment, and on the right side a button to see your current progress. Next to that, you will find your name. You can click on it. This opens a menu where you can switch organizations if needed, change some basic settings, and log out.
  • The largest part of the screen is the content. This is where the pages appear. Think of your Course overview, but also the lesson environment.

Tip

You can also make the menu on the left smaller. To do this, click on your name in the top right, and then on "Preferences". Here you will find an option for the "Compact sidebar". You can also change this later via your settings.

Dashboard segments

Now that we have briefly discussed the dashboard, which we also call "the learning environment", we can now delve deeper into the segments of the dashboard.

The main menu

The main menu is the navigation bar on the left side of the screen. Here you will find various buttons that allow you to navigate to other parts of the learning environment. The content of the main menu changes based on the role you have within the organization you are a member of.

In general, you will always find the following menu options:

  • Home: Here you will arrive at the dashboard, where you have an overview of your progress and upcoming deadlines.
  • Courses: Here you will find an overview of all courses you have access to.
  • Settings: Here you can change your personal settings, such as your name, email address, and password. In addition, you can also set preferences here, such as the compact sidebar.
  • You will also find Documents here, if your organization has left documents for you that you can download or view.

The user bar

The user bar is the bar at the very top of the screen, to the right of the main menu. Here you will find a search function, with which you can search for courses, lessons, and other content within your organization. You will also find a button here to open your current progress. The user menu can also be found here. We will discuss that in the next chapter.

The user menu

The user menu is the menu that opens when you click on your name in the user bar. Here you will find various options, such as switching organizations if you are a member of multiple organizations, changing your personal settings, and logging out.

Once you open it, you will immediately see the following options:

  • At the very top, you will see your name, email address, and a button to go to your settings. This is a gear icon.
  • You will find the "Switch organization" menu option below that. If you click on this, you will get a list of all organizations you are a member of. This way you can switch organizations.
  • Below that, you will find the "Preferences" menu option. Here you can set preferences, such as the compact sidebar and the language of Zunderwork. You will also find these settings on the settings page.
  • Finally, at the bottom, you will find the "Log out" menu option. Here you can log out of the learning environment. You will then be taken back to the login screen.
  • If you are an organization administrator, you will also find the "Manage organization" menu option here. Here you can go to the organization management, where you can change various settings of the organization, such as adding users and managing courses.

The content

The content is the largest part of the screen, to the right of the user bar. This is where the different pages of the learning environment appear. Think of your Course overview, but also the lesson environment. The content is where you will spend most of your time, because this is where all your courses, lessons, and other content can be found. Here you can also track your progress and complete assignments. The content is therefore the most important part of the learning environment, because this is where all your learning activities take place.

In your organization's colors

It is an option to have your organization's colors reflected in the learning environment. So it may be that your learning environment looks slightly different from someone else's.

Whether this happens depends, of course, on your organization's preferences.
