The course overview

Courses in the main menu is where your training lives. Everything your organization has made available to you is on that one page, along with what you have already finished.

How courses end up in your list

You do not sign up for courses yourself. Your organization decides who needs which training, usually based on your department, your role, or the group you joined with, and the courses appear in your list automatically. New training can show up at any time, and something you have finished stays in the list as proof that you did it.

If you expect a course and it is not there, your administrator is the person to ask. It usually means you have not been added to the right group yet.

Reading a course card

Every course is a card, and the card tells you what you need to know before opening it.

  • The name and image of the course.
  • How much there is to do: the number of lessons, and the number of tests if the course has any.
  • Required: this course is compulsory for you. Courses without this label are available to you, but nobody is waiting on them.
  • A date: when the course has to be finished. It says "Expires" with the date, or "No expiry" when there is no deadline at all. If the date has already passed, it says so.
  • Your status: Not started, Started, or Completed.

Some cards are shown as Locked. That means the course has requirements: another course you need to finish first, or a group you need to be part of. Hover over it or open the course and you will see exactly what is missing. Once you meet the requirement, the lock disappears by itself.

Finding the right course

If your list is long, the row of filters above it helps.

  • Search looks through the names of your courses.
  • Progress narrows the list to Not started, In progress, or Completed.
  • Required shows only the courses you are obliged to take.
  • Expiring / expired shows the ones with a deadline that is approaching or has passed. This is the fastest way to see what actually needs attention today.
  • Sort reorders the list by name or by which course was updated most recently.

Tip

Start with Expiring / expired and Required together. That gives you exactly the courses that are compulsory and running out of time, which is usually the whole of what you need to do this week.

Opening a course

Click a card and you land on the course itself. At the top you will find the course name, its image, and a short description of what it covers. Underneath is the list of lessons, so you can see how the course is built up before you begin.

From here, one button does the work.

  • Start course begins the first lesson.
  • Continue course appears once you have started, and takes you straight back to the lesson you stopped at. You can safely close the course halfway through a lesson, on any device, and pick it up later.
  • Review course appears after you have finished. It lets you read back through the material without starting anything over.

You move through a course lesson by lesson, and your progress is saved as you go.

When you finish

Completing the last lesson finishes the course. You get a short confirmation screen, and from there you can open your certificate. Save or print it if you want your own copy.

The course then stays in your overview as Completed. If it is training that has to be repeated, it will come back around when its date has passed, and you can take it again then.

Tip

Download your certificate when you get it, rather than counting on being able to fetch it later. If you ever leave the organization, your access to the platform goes with it.
