Storage limits

Every organization has one pot of storage that all uploaded files share. You will find it under Organization, File storage, where the top block shows how much of it you are using.

Your limit

A new organization starts with 5000 MB, which is five gigabytes. That is a single number for the whole organization, not per user and not per course.

The bar at the top of the page shows how much is being in-use. Underneath it we break the usage down per kind of file, so you can see at a glance whether your space is going into video, images, or documents.

Biggest files lists the ten largest files in your organization, largest first. If you are looking for something to remove, start there.

External video's

Zunderwork support external video websites like YouTube & Vimeo. That means that if you have your video material hosted through those platforms, it does not count as storage.

If the video material is confidential, you should use the platform storage.

When you run out

An upload that would push you over the limit is refused. Nothing is stored halfway, and nothing that is already in Zunderwork is affected. Courses keep working exactly as they did, you simply cannot add anything new until you make room or raise the limit.

You can free up space by checking the existing files in your documents page.

Asking for a higher limit

If you genuinely need more, use Request a higher limit at the bottom of the File Storage page. Only administrators or managers can request for more storage.

  1. Fill in Requested quota (MB) with the total you want to end up with, not the amount you want added. It has to be higher than your current limit.
  2. Add a Reason if you like. It is optional, but a line about what you are storing helps us handle the request faster.

The request comes to us and we get back to you. Your limit does not change at the moment you send it, so if you are stuck right now, clearing out a few large files is the quicker route.
