Your account and your data

Your account is yours, not your employer's. You keep it if you change jobs, you decide what it says, and you can ask for your data or ask us to delete it. This page explains where those controls are.

Everything here is under Settings, in your own account rather than the organization.

Your name and contact details

Under Profile you set the name that appears throughout the platform, on your certificates, and to the administrators of the organizations you belong to. If you change your name, this is the place to correct it.

Under Contact details you manage your email address and, if you want one, your phone number. A phone number is only needed for text message notifications and for two-factor codes by SMS.

How you sign in

Under Security you decide how you log in.

A password is optional. You can sign in with a link sent to your email instead, which is fine and secure. Setting a password simply gives you a second way in.

Two-factor authentication adds a code on top of that, from an authenticator app or by text message. It is worth turning on, and some organizations require it.

Notifications

Under Notifications you choose what reaches you and how. Course notifications, security messages and organization messages are separate categories, and each can arrive by email or, where available, by text message.

You can switch course notifications off entirely. Your training does not disappear if you do, and your deadlines do not move; you simply stop being reminded about them, so it is worth keeping at least email on.

Getting a copy of your data

Under Danger zone you will find Export account data. You choose a reason and a format, and we prepare a copy of your personal data and email you when it is ready. Processing can take up to 30 days, which is the legal window, though it is usually much faster.

Closing your account

Close account in the same place requests deletion of your account and everything attached to it.

Warning

This is irreversible. Your data, your course progress and your certificates are permanently deleted once the request is processed, which takes up to seven days. Download any certificate you want to keep before you request this.

Closing your account is not the same as leaving an organization. If you only want to stop training for one employer, that is something their administrator arranges, and your account stays yours.

Where your data lives

Zunderwork is hosted in the European Union and built to comply with the GDPR. Your employer can see what you would expect them to see: who you are, which courses you were assigned, and how you got on with them. They cannot see your password, and they cannot see anything you do in another organization on the same account.
