Your certificate

When you complete a course, Zunderwork issues a certificate for it in your name. You do not have to request it and nobody has to approve it. Finishing the last lesson is enough.

Whether you ever need it is another matter. Not every organization works with certificates: yours may simply keep its training records in Zunderwork and never ask you for a document. The certificate is there either way, for the moments when someone does want to see proof.

Getting your certificate

Straight after you finish, you land on a confirmation screen with a View certificate button. The certificate opens in a new tab as a PDF, ready to save or print.

You can come back to it later just as easily. Open the course again from your Courses overview, and in the list of lessons on the left you will find the completed step at the bottom. Click it and you are back on the same screen, with the same button.

Tip

Save the file somewhere of your own, or print it, once you have it. As long as your account is active you can download it again whenever you like, but if you leave the organization your access to the platform goes too, and the certificate goes with it.

What is on it

The certificate is a one-page PDF in your own language, showing:

  • your organization's logo,
  • the name of the course,
  • your name,
  • the date you completed it,
  • an expiry date, if this is training that has to be repeated,
  • and a QR code in the bottom-left corner, with a short code above it.

That QR code is what makes the certificate more than a nice document. An administrator of your organization can scan it and see, straight from our records, that the certificate is genuine and was issued to you. The paper can be copied or edited by anyone; the scan cannot.

If your name changes

Your name comes from your account, so a certificate you download always carries the name you go by now. If your name changes, or it was simply misspelled, correct it in your own Settings and download the certificate again.

Behind the QR code we also keep the name you had at the moment you completed the course. An administrator who scans your certificate sees both, which is exactly what makes a genuine name change easy to explain: the two names belong to the same person and the same completion.

If something other than your name is wrong, the course or a date for example, ask your administrator to look into it.

Doing a course again

A completed course stays in your overview as Completed, and you cannot simply take it again. There is no need to: your completion is on record.

If the training has to be repeated, the certificate carries an expiry date. Once that date passes, the course becomes available to you again, and finishing it produces a new certificate with a new date. The old one stays valid for the period it covered.
